The Environ-MEANTal Savvy Sponsors Buy Carbon Offsets
Depending on the size and scope of the event, sponsors purchase carbon offsets for the entire event or a portion of the event. Using the event calculator (this one by Cool Effect) to determine the offset amount. For a 100 person event with 100 domestic travelers, this amount would be less than $1000. Cool Effect also offers a more detailed calculation.

Note - I think Cool Effects projects are too remote and would like to see projects that are more effective in promoting climate change. Would be good too if they could be localized to some extent and related to our industry. A big idea example is to have the carbon offsets help the local area to get electric buses for events. If there are already electric buses but they are more expensive, to offset the costs.
